15012013 - Weekend Pampering Session Part 2

Last Sunday, I've finally decided to have a hair cut after months of looking and cursing at my split ends. Ok, not exactly a hair cut, more like a trim cause I don't look good in short hair.

So, after the food pampering session on Saturday, I've decided on a hair pampering session.

I went to Team Hair Dressing Saloon at Setapak. It was my first time going there. I was attended by Ruyi, my hairdresser for the day. Quite a pretty chick from Perak :p (Found out when we were chatting for a bit during the hair wash)

Initially I just wanted a normal wash and cut service, which was RM36. Before the start of the hair wash, Ruyi asked me if I wanna use a shampoo which is for the scalp. I said OK as I know my scalp wasn't doing well nowadays. That is an additional RM8. I love washing my hair at the hair saloon as I love the head (and a lil bit of shoulder) massage which comes with it.

Then while rinsing my hair, she asked me if I wanna do hair treatment as well, as it's only an additional of RM24. I hesitated and asked her if they sell hair tonic instead. I've finished mine few weeks back and haven't get a new one. She said yes, they have, and in additional, she said it's better to do the hair treatment to clear everything clean, and it will be easier for the hair to absorb the tonic etc etc. So I thought about it for a bit, well, true in a way la, so I agreed to it.

While doing the hair treatment. 

After the hair treatment, hair rinsing again, and I'm back to the chair again. Then she proceed to trimming my hair. She did recommend me to kinda perm my hair a bit on the upper part of my hair to make it looked less dull. She gave me a trial one. Didn't really liked it tho.

This is the tonic she recommended me. It's from Redken, called Intra force treatment. Hopefully it's good. It's RM78 for 125ml.

My hair feels alive again :D (Excuse me for not putting on any make up. Lazy.)

Total damage: RM146 (68 for the cut, wash and treatment, and 78 for the tonic)

13012012 - Weekend pampering session

It's been some time since I last treated myself to a nice meal. So on Saturday, while waiting for Ken to come meet me, I had lunch at Delicious, One Utama. Luckily another friend of mine dropped by to accompany me for a while during my meal. 

The lovely menu.

I start off with Rustic Mushroom soup with Garlic Bread on the side. Frankly speaking I love their mushroom soup a lot because it's full of mushroom chucks. It could be a very good snack item cause it's quite filling.

For my main, I ordered their Classic Beef Lasagne. Don't really feel like eating steaks or anything heavy as it was my first meal of the day, and I don't usually eat much for my first meal. It comes with salad as sides. I kinda like the salad tho. Maybe next time I should try their salad. I ordered this because it has less meat. It wasn't really nice. Taste kinda dry, and I end up didn't finish it. Left about one third of it.

Nope, I didn't order any dessert tho I almost wanted to. But I was too full. So I ordered their hot chocolate aka Melting Pot with marshmallows. It's actually my first time drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows in it. It came with 2 thin slices of almond biscuit which was absolutely awesome. Wonder if they sell it by individual pack tho, cause I really like the biscuits.

My friend left to meet another friend of his after I finished (kinda) my main. So I ordered another tea while waiting for Ken. One of my fav, Earl Grey. And it comes with another 2 pieces of biscuits. Yay!

Total damage for this meal: RM64.50.

While sipping on my tea, waiting for Ken, I read Fifty Shades Darker by E L James. Finished the first book Fifty Shades of Grey within a week or 2 if I'm not mistaken.

First thought while reading the first book? This is way better than watching porn. Yes. That's what I told my friend. Especially when you tried to imagine all the scenario described in the book.

At the moment I'm still half way through the second book. 

Anyway, I was supposed to post this last night, but I was out all day and came home pretty late. So, yea. 

And today, I treat myself to another pampering session. Will blog about it tomorrow ;)

13012013 - Malaysia National Featherweight Championship

One Fighting Championship (One FC) is organizing the National Featherweight Championship Tournament: Return of Warriors, and it's coming real soon, like in another 2 weeks time. Four of the top Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) prospects in Malaysia will battle it out in the first round of the tournament.

The two fights signed for this historic tournament are Raymond "The Rocket" Tiew taking on Melvin "Overkill" Yeoh, and AJ "Pyro" Lias Mansor squaring off against Jian Kai "The Headhunter" Chee.

According to the CEO of One FC, this tournament is to give these home-grown champions the chance to earn themselves the right to be called the Malaysian National Champion and rise to the top division as the number one contender.

MMA. So what is MMA? I only knew the existence of this last Thursday when I was invited to Muay Fit where they give us a glimpse of what MMA is. MMA is a short form for Mixed Martial Art. It is a blend of fighting styles and skills, where fighters could be more well rounded and balanced so that they could fight standing or on the floor.

Or, if you happened to watched Here Comes The Boom, that's roughly what is it about.

There are 3 ways to win. One is knockout, where one of the fighter got knocked down and unable to regain conscious, disoriented, or unable to intelligently defend himself anymore. Two, is submission, where a fighter gets his opponent to submit by using a choke hold or joint lock.

The last way of winning is when both fighters are still standing after the full duration of all rounds. This is when it is decided by the judges. Points will be given each round, and at the end of the fight, points will be added up and decision will be made.

We had a demo session by Peter Davis and Eric Kelly, showing us some of the moves. And after the demo session, there is a short Q&A session.

Peter Davis, who showed and explained to us the moves, is a Malaysian model-turned actor. He will be one of the fighters at the tournament as well and he would be facing Leo Krishna. You can check out his MMA stats here.

11012013 - Swedish House Mafia One Last Tour

Something is happening on 18th January 2013. Something BIG. And it's happening right here in Kuala Lumpur. Well to be exact, Sunway Lagoon surf beach.

Being a EDM (Electronic Dance Music, just in case if you're wondering) supporter (hard style sometimes), this is something that I wouldn't wanna miss. After anticipating for a long time, finally I've got my Swedish House Mafia One Last Tour Party Zone ticket! Can't wait!

10012013 - Carlsberg CNY Campaign Launch

After eating a lot yesterday during the day, at night I was at Nine Emperor Gods Temple 九皇爷安邦南天宫 for Carlsberg Chinese New Year Campaign Launch.

The main stage 

Various CNY tidbits that went well with ice cold Carlsberg beers are available at these small stalls set up around the main stage.

These are the CNY tidbits available:

Dragon's beard candy. (This is awesome! Only managed to get one and I put it straight to my mouth)

Besides the tidbits, there's also 2 stalls which displays Chinese traditional arts. One is traditional Chinese dough figurines.

And another one is Chinese paper cutting. They have cut out all the different zodiac for us to bring back as souvenir.

Furthermore, there's also a live Chinese orchestra in a small stage, playing the songs while everyone is enjoying themselves around with ice cold Carlsberg beer.

The event was emcee-ed by the lovely Lynn Lim 林佩盈.

With the Chinese New Year coming soon, Carlsberg scaled new heights by unveiling a one-of-a-kind 16 feet high 'Tree of Abundance' at the launch. Inspired by the money tree plant which is said to bring good fortune to all who received it, a symbol of wealth and prosperity, the towering, golden-hued Carlsberg 'Tree of Abundance' aptly symbolizes the brand's bountiful 2013 CNY theme 'May your prosperity reach new heights this Chinese New Year' (皇帽一开，百业盛开). Painted a rich golden shade, built on a solid metal base that measures 3.5 feet, there are 680 mock gold Chinese coins adorning the tree. A 'wishing fountain' is placed at the tree's base. 

This majestic symbol created by Carlsberg holds the promise of good fortune for the year ahead, particularly for businesses, families and those with careers. The generously proportioned Carlsberg 'Tree of Abundance' is an inspiration for consumers to strive for more and aim high during the year.

Soren Ravn, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, commented that "In Malaysia, it has become Carlsberg's tradition to show how much we value our consumers by commemorating this important occasion in an auspicious and interactive manner." He also said that "The 'Tree of Abundance' abundantly adorned with mock gold Chinese coins is set to bring a bounty of wealth and good fortune to out consumers."

The dramatic unveiling of the Carlsberg 'Tree of Abundance' was received with much enthusiasm as it appeared from behind an elaborate ancient Chinese door. For added pomp and festivity, the unveiling was followed by the entrance of eight Fook Gods (Gods of Prosperity) and culminated with a riveting lion dance by multiple world-champion troup, Kun Seng Keng Dragon Lion Dance Association.

We were entertained by a 24-festive drums performance by JB drum team, which is oh-so-impressive! that i forgot to take pics of it, and also a face mask-changing performance by a beautiful girl name Pinky Loo.

The Carlsberg 2013 CNY Campaign promotion, the "Golden Entourage" is gonna reward their consumers with a whooping RM6.8 million worth of cash and other giveaways. It will commence on January 11 and continue until February 22. It will travel across Peninsular Malaysia only. In addition to the majestic Carlsberg 'Tree of Abundance', the 'Golden Entourage' will feature a brightly lit Carlsberg truck, 8 Fook Gods (God of Prosperity) and lion dance performance. A bounty giveaways awaits Carlsberg consumers who visit the 'Tree of Abundance' at various locations.

To participate in this, Carlsberg consumers will receive one crown cork per person which they will toss into a 'wishing fountain' at the base of the tree.

A coin box will be released from the tree trunk.

 In the coin box, there will be a Chinese New Year greeting messages for consumers.

CNY3-Free big (quart) bottle of Carlsberg
