Can you handle meeting your exes on the beach?

If you have no idea what is that, read my first post on MTV's Ex on the beach.

If you're just too lazy to go there... here... is a picture which is related to it.

And lucky me, I get a sneak peak of the next episode! *squeals!

What happens is, eight single guys and girls thought they are up for a dating show. As the show goes on, their exes show up one by one. Check out their reaction when they see their exes walking up the beach!

I noticed that first impression is not so important when it comes to the exes walking up the beach. Imagine your friend's ex is walking up the beach and before that they were telling you how much of a bad news are they. And *bam* instant bad impression. Although some people are not like that, they will judge the person when they meet them in person instead.

Sneak peak starts here:

*of course I won't reveal all the details. Where's the fun if I tell you everything??

First off, Ricci, Vicky's ex have just walked up to the beach last week. And they did not talk face to face for the whole episode. And he, is out with a date with someone, someone he claims to be his best date.

Secondly, Liam get to choose a lady out for a date. Because of who he decided to choose, it makes everyone turns on him, and even got into a fight! Who did he choose??

Third of all, someone needs to leave the group :(

And last of all, Ricci and Vicky finally meet face to face and talk. What's gonna happen during that period of time? More fights?

Besides all the drama, of course there are some who ends up in happy ending :D

Do check out MTV's Ex on the beach Season 1 Episode 8 airing on 15th June 2014 at 10pm!

MTV Ex on the beach

Imagine yourself.. strolling along the beach with a hot chick / hunk.. you looking at her / him, while she / he looks back at you with heart melting smile.. walking while kicking the water and enjoying the sea breeze..

And all of the sudden!

You see your ex walking towards you. *heart skips for a beat*

What will you do?

a) walks towards the ex and shows her / him how happy you are right now
b) walks towards the ex... and pretend you don't know her / him
c) walks away / runs away
d) *stun*
e) walks up to her / him and say hi
f) walks up to her / him and ask him to get off the beach as this is my territory now!
g) *let me know what u will do by commenting below coz im curious...

OR, watch MTV's latest dating series, Ex on the Beach to see what happened when eight single guys and girls, thinking that this is just a dating show, BUT, *jeng jeng jeng* their ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends started showing up.

So it's my first time watching this show, and oh! the British accent <3 and not forgetting the hot chicks and topless hunks *droools...* It did took me some time to figure out who is who and what's going on.

Anyway.. it all started when they moved into a villa on a beautiful Mediterranean paradise, and expecting some sizzling hot holiday romance. Then, slowly, their ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends started showing up one by one, and oh my you should look at their faces when they see the ex-es.

I have never seen someone with so much hatred towards the ex-boyfriend. And it really got me thinking, what did he ever did (or never did) to deserve that intense hatred. The first thing the girl did was yell at the guy: "Get out!*

The relationships in this show, well, it's pretty messed up in a way. It's like, hey, I think I just found a new guy and move on, then, your ex shows up and wants you back. In reality, yes, it does happen. Some people will only realize what they have been missing, after they lose it.

Friendship. Well, they do look out for each other. But will their personality / relationships ruin their friendship after? I wonder.

Anyway do check out the next Season 1 Episode 7 airing on 8th June 2014!
Ex on the Beach airs every Sunday at 10pm.

Unbeatable 激戰

MMA fans~ here's something that might interest you.

Brought to you by Tune Talk, the sponsor for ONE FC Championship which will be happening in November, here's Unbeatable. Read till the end to find out what surprise I have for MMA fans. Don't worry, it won't be a very very long post.

Wee~~ free popcorn and drinks too :D

Unbeatable is a Hong Kong Chinese movie about MMA, directed by Dante Lam, starring Nick Cheung (张家辉), Eddie Peng (彭于晏), Mei Ting (梅婷). Here's something to get you started if you're still lost.

It's a drama film about mixed martial art, revolving around Nick Cheung and Eddie Peng. Eddie wanting his father to stand up from his bankruptcy, asked Nick to help him train so that he can go for the tournament. Nick was a champion last time, but because of something happened, he forgot about his passion for mixed martial art and the purpose of him doing it. Slowly he regained his passion and found what was lost. Still amazed me how Nick did his move during the final.

It is a pretty straight forward film, no puzzle to be solved, don't have to think so much. Suitable for family to watch, but not really recommended for kids as during the fights it is pretty brutal.

But it's true, never give up on your passion or whatever you like. No matter for what reason.

Here's some extra info for you if you read my whole post.
Remember my previous post about MIMMA? Guess what? MIMMA Season 2 will be announced end of this year! Can't wait!

The Wolverine

It wasn't as bad as I thought it is. Initially thought it was gonna be really long and draggy. Well ok, it was kinda long since it's a 2 hour-long movie.

Check out the trailer in case you haven't watch it yet:

Directed by James Mangold (who also directed Knight and Day, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz) , The Wolverine is an action movie about wolverine from Xmen (duh! *rolls eyes*), where he got "invited" by someone he saved last time back in Japan to see him before he pass away, but things wasn't as simple as he thought. A trip to Japan which almost cost him his life.

Starring Hugh Jackman as Logan aka the wolverine, Rila Fukushima as Yukio (the red hair chick with bangs), Tao Okamoto as Mariko, Will Yun Lee as Harada.

The whole film takes place at different places around Japan, except at the beginning of it, where Yukio found Logan and managed to convince him to follow her back to Japan.

Like most action movies, expect it to be full of actions, explosions, shootings. The parts I like are the fights on top of the bullet train and the final fight towards the end. I jumped a bit during the last part because it wasn’t something I’m expecting.

Another part which I've noticed, is when Logan and Yukio was on the plane, on the way to Japan, they are sitting at the opposite direction of each other, showing that they are not in the same "group". What I'm trying to say is, they have different objective at that time. At the end of the film, they are sitting facing the same direction together, showing that they are now on par with each other and they both have the same objective now.

There’s one part which I don’t really like though, which is the part where Yashida (the old man who wanted to see Logan before he dies) who was lying on this bed, and it will automatically go up and down tracing the body movement of Yashida to help him get up. It looked really really fake, and yes of course I know it’s CGI, but it’s kinda too obvious.

Overall, it was a not bad film for me. I’ll give it a 6.5/10.

17012013 - The Last Stand

The last stand, directed by Kim Jee-Woon (whom also directed The good, the bad, the weird) is gonna start showing in cinema starting today.

Yesterday I got to watch it earlier than many other people thanks to Churp Churp!

And I won a T-Shirt too!

It's an action + comedy film., lead by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yea, we all know he's old, but he still got the moves! Initially thought it would be a full action-based film, but found out there are some comedy element in it.

Just in case up till now you have no idea which film I'm talking about, here's the trailer for the film.

Expect a lot of explosions and blood, and more explosions and gunfire fights for this film. Not forgetting there's quite a lot of swearing in it too. It's bloody alright, but not SAW-ewwie kinda bloody. You can see blood splattering all over but not too much. Some how it just gave me the feeling that it's just the right amount of bloody scenes.

Love the shots showing how powerful the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is. "Faster than any chopper" as what one of the FBI officer said in the film. This is one beauty which I've fallen in love with throughout the film.

There are some parts of the movie where I'll be muttering in my heart: "You're a sniper!! Y U NO SNIPE!". I only noticed during the credits that it's directed by a Korean director tho, and it's actually pretty good.

At the end of the day, he is a very responsible sheriff that protects his town from ANYTHING or in this case, ANYONE.

Recommended if you're not looking for some hard core action-based film.

16012013 - Mama

Mama, a horror film directed by Andres Muschietti, produced by Guillermo del Toro (who directed Pan's Labyrinth).

Been wanting to watch this film, and I got to watch it last night.

I actually mistaken the actress in the movie, Jessica Chastain (who played Annabelle) as Ashley Greene.

They look kinda alike ok.

Anyway, back to the movie. If you have not heard of this movie. I'll suggest to watch the trailer first before you head to the cinema. Not for the weak-hearted.

The sound effect is usually the most important element in horror / thriller film. Sometimes it's not the image that spooks you, but the sound effect which they used that make it more intense. Even with complete silence and the occasionally sound of breathing is enough to tense you up.

In this film, I love the effect which was used especially during Luke's and Annabelle's dreams. It's kinda like those classic, old video tapes type of effect. Which reminds me of The Ring, ya know, the one where the ghost crawl out of the TV.

The ghost is quite Tim Burton like tho. The face and the entire body and all. Gloomy and sad. Well, she is a sad ghost anyway.

Story line wise, it's pretty interesting, tho it still kept me wondering why the ghost have to 'feed to survive'.

It's pretty scary (for me anyway) and if you need a scare at the beginning of the year, do go and watch. I was trying to cover my eyes most of the time, cause I don't wanna spook myself too much :( But then, although I'm scared, I still wanna watch it. Yes. That's me.

Before I end this, and before anyone wanna bash me or anything, it's MY opinions and MY views. It's normal to have a different view for other people.

My dog dou dou <我的狗蚪蚪>

So.. it has been a long time since I last do a movie review. Actually it has been a long time since I last blogged too. So I guess... time to go back to my #foreveralone blogging world. Oh by the way, just a heads up, no, this is not about my dog, yes, i have a dog, but no, his name is not Dou Dou. And here's a picture of my dog =)

Back to the topic, yesterday I was invited by Jackie to go to a special screening of a Singaporean film called My Dog Dou Dou <我的狗蚪蚪>, directed by Ng Say Yong. Here's a picture of the dog from the movie:

It's so adorable! Makes me wanna hug him too! And here's the movie trailer just in case you haven't heard of this film before. (And honestly speaking, I only knew about it yesterday)

As you can see from the trailer, it's a story about a boy and a dog. After they got struck by a lighting, things start to change. The greed, what people will do for money and things they'll do to get more. The love, how it makes people (some) realize that money is not everything.

Don't really like the font color used in the beginning of the movie tho, as it's pretty hard to see and read. For those who are color blind (not me), it's gonna be hard for you to see, well unless you don't really care who produced and directed it, then yea, this is not a problem for you.

Camera shot used, mostly still shots (low angle, long shot, medium shot) well since it's a fantasy-action drama, consider quite alright, and the fact that we all already know that it's gonna be focusing mostly on the dog and the boy. Love the close up shot towards the end between the dog and the boy (that's the part that made me almost cry).

I must say the dog's acting is really great, and that it's really well trained. But, on my opinion, it was not really smooth at some part as too much cut was used, especially the part where the boy and the dog firstly met at the playground.

Overall, it was an ok film, suitable for the family, dog/pet lovers.

Like their FB Page if you're interested to get more information and updates. =)

Paranormal Activity 2 - Movie Review

If you don't know anything about this movie, check out my this blog post first. The trailer for the movie is on that blog post as well.

Remember this couple from the previous Paranormal Activity 1? Katie and Micah.

Just in case you don't remember them, here's the trailer for Paranormal Activity 1:

The reason I mentioned this couple because they are related to this movie as well. It's kinda like before and after what happened in PA1.

Those who have watched the trailer, when you are actually watching the movie, I'm sure you'll be expecting some shadow, or some things that move by itself. It will be like you are playing spot-the-difference cinema version. During the whole movie, you'll be busy looking for something strange, or something which were not there before that but it appear after that.

This movie focus on another family. The female main character, Kristi is the sister of Katie from PA1. Kristi is married to Daniel, who already have a daughter called Ali. So, Kristi is Ali's step mom. Kristi and Daniel just got a new born son named Hunter. (awesome name! =)) And they also have a dog named Abby.

It all started when they thought that there are 'break-ins" in their home, so they installed security cameras around the house. It's different from PA1 as PA1 only uses one handycam to record everything, thus we can only view from one angle, which is from the room, or wherever Micah left the handycam. For PA2, we get to view more as more camera are placed around the house. We get to see what's happening at the living room, kitchen, swimming pool, front porch, front door, and also the baby's room.

A brief guessing on why the demon keep disturbing them will be reveal in the movie. Someone will be possessed. How that someone got possessed is super scary. With so many different camera angles this time, you get to see what exactly happen, unlike PA1, where you need to guess what's happening, and let your imagination do the work with all the screaming and stuff.

The sound effect is great, especially when there's no sound at all, and all of the sudden, *BOOM*. During the silence moment, I swear that you can even hear your own breathing.

As for the story line, for me, some part is kinda predictable, but of course not all.

Recommended to watch in the cinema instead of watching it at home. Because you need to "spot-the-difference". Bigger screen = Easier to spot =) Oh! And get a good seat right at the back, helps you to "spot the difference" easier.

Paranormal Activity 3 maybe? =)

Skyline

At first I actually thought this is a movie about car racing. So I went Youtube to look for the movie trailer and I was like, "Oh?What the...." Ok, so it's not. It's a movie about aliens invasion. Before I start giving comments on the movie, here's the trailer just so you'll know what it's about.

Seems like a cool movie isn't it?
I thought it is too. At the start of the movie, everything is fine. It really does bring out the curiosity in you to know what exactly happened and how it happened. You can actually know what happened within the first 30 minutes of the movie.

The shots for most of the action scenes are good. Uses quite a lot of slow motion during the exciting scenes to show how the characters avoided the shots and all, and also when the helicopter slowly crashed down through the glasses. Uses quite a number of medium shots and framing so that we could focus more on what's within the frame, like when the aliens are scanning through the house with their tentacles. Quite a number of masking were used as well, as the characters uses the telescope to see what's going on outside.

As for the editing, on my opinion, it wasn't that smooth when it cuts to another day, especially the front part. Was pretty confused because it does not link with the previous scene at all. It just got cut off and all of the sudden, it's like watching another thing. Although superimposition are used to tell which day it is, but it's still pretty confusing.

Storyline, well, it's an alien invasion movie, so of course you'll be expecting lots of aliens invading the place, and yea, the characters have no other place to run to because the aliens are too powerful, and after the air force thought they kill the alien base ship, it actually can recover by itself. And the yea, as usual, the 2 main characters died the last. But never really expected the ending to be like that. *Do not read this part if you want to watch the movie* The alien that suck up the boyfriend's brain, actually got controlled by the boyfriend's brain instead. Means the boyfriend's brain has taken control of one of the alien's body and try to protects the girlfriend after they got sucked up to the alien base ship. The alien-boyfriend just shoved all the other aliens' tentacles away from the girlfriend and touched the girlfriend's face. Then the girlfriend realized it's the boyfriend. AND THEN, CUT! THE END! I was like "......" "What!? It just ended like that?" Seriously like hanging halfway.

This is definitely not a movie that worth watching. You can actually know the whole story by watching the trailer itself. The movie itself is pretty confusing even after watching the whole movie. Please bare in mind that it is my opinion on the movie. If you don't agree with it, it's fine, because everyone have different perception.

Moral of the movie: Don't mess with aliens, you have no idea how powerful they are. If aliens really do invade Earth, better kill yourself than let them torture you if you can't fight them.

Wall Street... Jalan Dinding

After 23 years, Wall Street 2 is back. Since i never watched Wall Street 1 before, so i don't know whether it's better or worst than the previous one. From what I see from the trailer, the storyline is almost the same. Wall Street 2 just continue from what happened at Wall Street 1. In case you are like me, have not watch Wall Street 1 before, here's the trailer.

Classic eh? It's a movie which talks a lot about money, shares, money, property, money, fraud, and yea, more money. It also tells what people will do when they have greed in their mind. And what they will do when it comes to money. Betrayal? Lies? Anything to get to what they want. From the movie, "Is greed good?", a book written by the character acted by Michael Douglas in the movie, Gordon Gekko, well, the title says it all. For those living in Wall Street, i bet they will say that greed is good. In this current world, well, everyone is greedy in a way. After they get this, they want more and more of that. But, i agree that greed is good. It motivates you to fight for more, work harder to get what you want. Greed exist in everybody's mind.

One memorable quote from Wall Street (1987) by Gordon Gekko:
Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the U.S.A

And finally, love saves the day after all.

Please bare in mind that this movie is highly recommended to those that knows something about Economics, or at least know something related to the business world. For those who don't, like me, well, be prepare to fall asleep in the cinema.

Legend of the Guardians

Just came back from the movie screening of the Legend of the Guardians in 3D with the Advertlets bloggers at Pavilion.

Overall it's a pretty cool movie. It may looks like a children movie, but I actually like the effects and how the things are emphasize in the movie. A lil synopsis on the movie, it's about these 3 young owls, brought up by their parents telling them about the legend of the guardians all the time. The eldest brother among the 3 owls, Kludd doesn't believe in the legend, while the 2 other younger owls, Soren and the youngest sister believes that the legend is true. Because of Kludd's jealousy, Kludd and Soren landed themselves into the hand of the Pure One, and it's up to Soren to escape successfully and look for the legendary guardians for help. What happened to them? Well, go watch it and you shall know.

I love how it uses slow motion to show the intensity of the moves, and how it uses all the different shots for the whole movie. Uses a lot of close up shots so what is suppose to be focus on are focused on. The shots make it really exciting and breath-catching.

I'm so in love with the soundtrack in the movie now.
To the sky by Owl City (Yea, story of owls, and song sung by Owl City.)

Moral of the story? Always trust your instinct and believes in your dream.

Paranormal Activity 2

I'm sure everyone knew or heard or watched Paranormal Activity before. Guess what? It's back! Paranormal Activity 2! And it's scarier than ever. Just in case you have no idea what's paranormal activity, it's those not normal things that happen anywhere, anytime to anyone. Like ghost haunting your house or room or wherever. Or maybe some demon (which MAY exist) disturbing you all the time wherever you are. Now, I didn't said it's happening to YOU, ok? The YOU i meant here could be anyone.

So about this movie, it's gonna be released in US on 22 October 2010, so hopefully it is released here at the same date too. Since I haven't watched it, I don't know what's the exact story is about. I only know that it's related to a demonic experience by a baby. Yup! Baby! I can't wait to see it.

Anyway, here's the trailer, enjoy:

I actually don't dare to watch it even after finish loading it. I scroll down and only see half of the video, then i watch it again, this time in full, but with a BIG pillow on my lap, preparing to hide myself if something jumps out. Hahaha. But still, I wanna watch it in cinema!!!  Anyone?*wide grins*
